10 Minutes With Luxofood Easy Chicken Teriyaki

This is a great dish to try especially if you are cooking for kids who will love the sweet and savory taste of teriyaki sauce. To keep things healthy, we recommend choosing chicken breasts over drumsticks of thighs. This is because chicken breasts are naturally lower in fat and calorie.

10 Minutes With Luxofood : Easy Chicken Teriyaki & Broccoli.

Ingredients:

  • Cooking oil or Olive oil.
  • 400 grams chicken, cleaned and diced
  • 250 grams broccoli florets, cleaned and steamed
  • 4 tbsp of soy sauce
  • 3-4 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp Sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt & pepper, to taste

Directions:

  1. First, heat a cast-iron skillet or pan on medium heat. Pour olive oil and brown chicken until cooked on all slides. When the texture turns slightly crisp, lower the heat.
  2. Whisk garlic, soy sauce, honey, sesame oil and cornstarch into a glass jar. Mix well and pour into the cooked chicken in the pan.
  3. Stir altogether for 1-2 minutes. Sauce will thicken and absorb into the chicken
  4. Stir in steamed broccoli along with chicken and teriyaki sauce. Add salt and pepper to intensify taste as necessary.
  5. Serve with a bowl of red rice or quinoa for healthier alternatives

Extra Tips:

  • Use low sodium soy sauce if possible. This will keep the taste light and fresh.
  • You may use other natural sweeteners to replace honey, such as maple syrup or coconut sugar

  • Add extra vegetables to your teriyaki chicken such as sauteed carrots, cauliflowers, mushrooms or sliced paprika.
