Description
The Shearwater has classic flecks of pale straw yellow with a tinge of green running through the glass giving a bright and clear appearance. The nose is all Marlborough with lifted gooseberry, capsicum and slightly green grapefruit with a clean steel underlying herbal note.
An endangered bird, the Hutton’s Shearwater finds sanctuary in Marlborough’s sheltering mountains. Nourished by the rich sea and abundant sunshine, the Shearwater thrives here. These same environmental conditions also make superb cool-climate grape growing.
With over 29 years collective winemaking experience, viticulturist Jeremy Hyland & winemaker Tim Adams have crafted a wine of expressive purity, showcasing all that is great about Marlborough. This wine is made in the style of Sauvignon Blanc that made Marlborough famous packed full of fruit flavours of gooseberry, limes and cut grass .
