Pernod Ricard was created in 1975 through the link-up of two French anise-based spirits companies: Pernod, which was founded in 1805, and Ricard, founded by Paul Ricard in 1932. A look back at the history of an expansion driven by entrepreneurial, passionate and visionary people.
Pernod Ricard was formed after a series of strategic acquisitions throughout its whole history, with its most recent ones being, the acquisition of Seagram on 2001, Allied Domecq on 2005 and V&S Company on 2008. As a result, Pernod Ricard holds today one of the biggest portfolios of the market, with a wide range of products, able to cover all the needs for every alcohol category.
In Greece, Pernod Ricard plays a really important part on the alcohol market, with leading brands such as Chivas Regal, Absolut, Jameson Irish Whiskey, Havana Club and international products like Ballantine’s Beefeater, Olmeca, Malibu and the Mumm Cordon Rouge champagne, through its subsidiary company Pernod Ricard Hellas, one of the biggest international spirit and alcohol companies in our country, with a turnover of 38,9 million euro and 108 employees. In 2005 and 2007 it was on the top 20 companies to work in Greece, as said by Best Workplaces Hellas.
One of the biggest assets of Pernod Ricard in Greece that establish the place of the group on the Greek market is OUZO MINI from Mitilini, with a modern ISO productive unit.
Pernod Ricard’s priority is the constant development of their product line through adapting innovative marketing, that respects the consumer and their needs while satisfying their quality needs.
